Add a tidy number and then subtract (B)
Throughout this unit students will add a tidy number and subtract to solve a series of equations with the assistance of a number line. The students skill is then scaffolded to the next level as they will need to apply the same strategy to solve equations without the assistance of a number line. Lastly, students will apply the strategy to solve a word problem and calculate how many points Alex still needs to score on his computer game to reach his target.
