Convert a fraction to equivalent fractions
The first task in this unit requires students to multiply fractions by a given whole to create an equivalent fraction e.g. 3/4 x 3/3 = 9/12, 4/5 x 3/3 = 12/15 etc. Each question in task two gives two fractions and students need to state whether they are equivalent, then provide justification for their answer. The final task gives three fractions per question and students need to circle the two fractions that are equivalent and show how they came to this conclusion. Answers are provided.
