Place value up to 99
Delightful graphics, a simple layout and carefully scaffolded tasks assist students' understanding of place values up to 99. Students are first asked to total the number of ones represented by the images and then the number of tens. From there, students are required to count the tens and ones in each picture, write these two numbers then give a final total. Finally, students are asked to work back the other way; they are given a total and asked to draw what is needed to represent this number.
